Support the fight against COVID-19 in India

Without safe water, millions of families are virtually defenseless against the spread of disease. With your help we can make an immediate impact.

The Merck Foundation has provided financial support for Safe Water Network field initiatives since 2010. The foundation has contributed expertise, insight and personnel to our work in India, where we recently introduced a groundbreaking demand generation campaign. Members of the Richard T. Clark Fellowship program played important roles in this work. The campaign won three rural marketing awards by the Rural Marketing Association of India and is now an integral part of a three-year expansion program in the country. This initiative will be introduced into our operations in Ghana in late 2014.

Since its inception, the Merck Foundation has contributed more than $740 million to support initiatives that address important societal needs in a manner consistent with Merck’s overall mission to help the world be well. The Foundation supports organizations and innovative programs that are aligned with their three focus areas: health, education and community.

“At Merck, we are interested in understanding how innovation can be used to improve global health. Safe Water Network's tablet initiative is an excellent example of a new way to use technology to improve access to clean water.”
